ALC Contractors built me a 926 square foot mother-in-law cottage from a design by architect John Lehman. As part of the project, ALC converted the carport of the main house to a garage, and attached the cottage by a small breezeway to the main house (attachment is required by zoning regulations). The cottage has all the features of a big house, on a small footprint.
The new cottage addition, breezeway, and converted garage look consistent with the main house, and even the materials were selected for consistency. It looks beautiful, and just as if it were all built at the same time.
I have been in the cottage now for several weeks, and everything is as advertised, and everything works well. The workmanship is top notch. The process went very smoothly. Andy is very professional and kept everything on schedule and on budget. If there were hiccups, I rarely heard about them .. he does what needs to be done and gets the job done. Andy is very thoughtful and will make suggestions as the process goes on, if he thinks there is a better way. He will also let you know if he feels something may be a bad idea, and what a better way might be. Andy and his crew are courteous and professional and he keeps the schedule moving ... there were workmen here virtually every weekday. My cottage was completed on budget and on time. Oh, and they keep a clean worksite also. Andy is readily available by cell if you have a question or want to discuss something. I really can’t say enough good things about the experience and the final product. I would recommend ALC unreservedly for any small or large project.
